Golf Gourmands Getaway

Golf Gourmands Getaway In West Sussex

Tee off a little closer to home this summer in West Sussex and avoid the airport chaos by booking a luxury golfing break with a difference at our sister estate Leonardslee Lake & Gardens and our beautiful, championship golf course, Mannings Heath Golf & Wine Estate.

What To Expect From Our Golfing Break Package?

The Golf Gourmands Getaway is an opportunity to indulge at every turn. Check in to Leonardslee House for a leisurely two-night stay and enjoy expansive garden and lake views in one of the 10 luxury and individually designed bedrooms. While each is unique, they all feature quintessentially British interiors with wallpaper and soft furnishings chosen to complement the hotel’s breath-taking surroundings, alongside sustainably sourced antiques and British-made pieces.

Once freshened up and unpacked, make your way down to the hotel’s Michelin-starred Restaurant Interlude, where you’ll enjoy the signature 21-course tasting menu created by Executive Chef Jean Delport. Located in a 19th-century Grade II listed Italianate mansion with panoramic views of the estate and beyond, the intimate dining experience features piano music, a sculptural setting amid works by Anton Smit, and a menu that charts the flavours and textures of the woodland gardens at Leonardslee, using ingredients foraged, cultivated and grown on the estate and local farms.

The seasonally led menu includes dishes such as bracken fiddleheads, pine and burnt butter; brown choux with dandelion and hazelnut; middle white pork with lobster and wild garlic; and Leonardslee honey, salted caramel and whisky. The restaurant also serves award-winning wines from owner Penny Streeter OBE’s family-run South African vineyard, Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate in Hermanus.

After a blissful night’s sleep, grab your clubs and make the short journey to the hotel’s sister property, Mannings Heath Golf & Wine Estate. Here you’ll enjoy a golf members’ day for two, which includes a Golfer’s Breakfast – pick from a diverse menu featuring everything from a quick Eggs Royale to a mighty 18-Hole Breakfast with all the trimmings – before enjoying an 18-hole round on the championship Waterfall course. Birdies, bogeys and bunkers complete, you’ll also receive a bucket of balls to practice your swing at the estate driving range, and lunch at The Vineyard Kitchen.

Once you’ve had your fill, return to Leonardslee and while away the rest of the day exploring the property’s 240 acres of Grade I listed gardens, parkland, lawns and forest areas with its abundance of fascinating fauna and flora. Tuck into a delicious breakfast at Leonardslee House on the morning of check out, before heading on your way feeling revived and rejuvenated.
